Self Portrait 2009

This is a self portrait based on a test image I created earlier (yesterday's photo). It is also the inaugural image of a new series of life-size portraits I have shot for a new series I hope to shop a gallery show for later on this year.

It's a little disconcerting to do work like this with myself as the initial subject matter, but I figured how can I expect friends to pose for something like this if I can't pose myself? It wasn't easy by any means. From the posing, to the selection of the shots (sobering), right on through to passing it before the eyes of people who's opinions I trust.

I love the concept, I like the finished effect, I don't like being in front of the lens. Now onto other subjects and a great deal more comfort and the clarity comfort brings.
