Antique Chinese White Jade Horse MiniaturePosted by Henry (Fall River, United States) on 16 August 2009 in Art & Design and Portfolio. This is another piece from a collection I am currently shooting for a catalog. This is one of the smallest pieces of sculpture that I have shot thus far. The entire piece is perhaps 2.5" long. Its primitiveness appeals to me. I also like seeing the individual gouges and scratches on the white stone. The artist of this little piece is long since dead, but to see those lines, well that makes me think of his/her hands and I like that. I've always thought that in art, no one ever produced horses as beautifully as the Chinese. I see aspects of the greatest Chinese horse art right here in this little guy.
