Antique Cream and Tan Vase

Posted by Henry (Fall River, United States) on 7 August 2009 in Art & Design and Portfolio.

Recently, I had an opportunity to shoot a collection of Asian antiques. The collection consisted of pieces made from bronze, ivory, turquoise, adventurine and a variety of jades. The collection is being cataloged for appraisal and sale and because of the number of objects, I didn't get the amount of time with each piece to shoot it properly. Most of the pieces were shot over a neutral gray or black velvet background. Not optimum shooting conditions, but what are you going to do? I will post the more interesting and beautiful pieces here as I do post work on them.

This is a cream and tan jade vase that was carved from one single block of material. It was especially well crafted and had a gorgeous luminous quality.
