@Margie: Thank you Margie. It is basically just a product shot, but I like the way it came out. It took a while to get the lighting right, but I think it gave the photo pleasing tones. I also like that while it is a black and white image it has a weird color feeling to it.

@ruben latre: Thank you Ruben and no worries, I understand what you meant. Believe it or not, in 2000 my father saw someone throw this camera and lens into the trash! My father gave it to me the same week he rescued it. It was (and still is) in "like new" condition. It's just a beautiful and solidly-made camera.

Believe it or not, I've been taking some shots with an F2 and the 55mm 1.2 lens this same afternoon during the lunch break. A colleague has brought his F2 and we've been playing around with it. Coincidences...

@Observing: I'm not at home at the moment to roll it over, but I'm pretty sure it is an F2. You made me a little nervous. I have several Nikon film cameras and I have confused the models in the past. I did check on Wikipedia though and found this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikon_F2 In any event, you've got me guessing now and I won't know for sure until this evening!

I love this camera! I used an F2 through college photography courses in the 70's, as a newspaper reporter in the 80's, used it in rain, snow, sub-zero temps. A wonderful sturdy workhorse. I still have it.

@Pied Crow: Yes, it is a well made camera. While I do have several newer Nikon film cameras, I always carry this one along with my digital camera on all my trips. It really is a workhorse.
