Doorway, Sao Miguel-Azores

Posted by Henry (Fall River, United States) on 17 April 2008 in Architecture and Portfolio.

I was in the tiny town of Lomba de Sao Pedro on Sao Miguel in the Azores. I came across this door in my host's childhood home. I couldn't pass it up.

One of the interesting things about the island is the textures of stones, cement, tiles and lava rock countered by the lush foliage and brilliant colors of various flowers. There are photo opportunities at every turn.

I shot this the same way I did with all my Sao Miguel work. A Nikon F2, a 50mm lens and ASA400 B & W film. To see more of my work from Sao Miguel please visit the online gallery at my website.
